I have had multiple bad experiences with the manager kathy, for one i accidently bought some practice arrows from this store. Where the only place it was stated was on the barcode. I didnt realize untill i got back to my home in dodson so honestly i was bumbed, but i loaded back up and headed strait back that way got there asked to return them i was immediately spoken to with a rude tone and got poor customer service, while being interrigated by this woman. I let this go being the kind person i am. To add on to this she constantly talks to her employees with a sarcastic and degrading voice. And now she has harrassed my brother over some pvc and i hope you go once or twice to gather one of these experiences yourself. Look at his review for further detail
I suppose I should also mention that every other time I've been in there it has been quite pleasant. Usually the employees are very helpful and friendly, which is the only reason I'm not giving them one star.
That same day I needed some wire for a project and she was very knowledgeable on the different types and helped me find exactly what I needed to finish my project.
I asked how I could file a complaint and I was told I could talk to the owner whenever he was back from Colorado. I do plan on doing that and I will update my review if he acts any differently than she did. I called the store when I got home to get their names for when I talk to the manager, and though I got hers through coincidence, she refused to give me the boy's who actually cut the pipe. She was very hostile and even referred to my being upset as "assenine." Since I persisted, and maybe in a last ditch effort to keep me from taking this to her boss, she offered to exchange the pipe for a whole new, uncut piece of 10 foot pipe. Claiming that she was "fixing my problem."
Definitely need more places with managers like Kathy so willing to assist you in such a professional and friendly manner. I highly recommend Ace Hardware in Winnfield.
I always shop at ACE because the employees are always friendly. Kathy help match colors of paint that coordinated with each other. Kathy even helped me with my kids and held a baby so I could continue to shop. She also helped me walk my items out to my vehicle so I could put kids in. She always goes above and beyond to help her customers. Thanks Ms. Kathy . Awesome job as always
I went into ace hardware in Winnfield for some chalk paint to paint the wall in my daughters bedroom. The manager Kathy told me they didn't stock it but then she went out of her way to give me a recipe to make my own! THANKS KATHY YOU MADE MY DAUGHTER'S DAY! Very few places have employee that will go out of their way to help you the way she did for me.
Of course I was upset about it because, from what I understood, cutting it in half was just a service they provided. Little did I know (not that it should matter) that they were doing that as a "favor" and that they didn't have to even if I asked. If I had known that I would had gladly given the extra bucks for a straight cut. When confronted about it (not even in a particularly rude way), she (the presumed manager, Kathy) told me it was free and that they didn't HAVE to do it.Though that may be true, it is never a good excuse to do a half-assed job.
Of the many things she was saying on repeat, one of them was "because of you we now have a policy that we no longer cut pipe as favors" which in all honesty, if that's how well they do with their favors, I'd say I've done everyone a favor. To be clear, my pipe was cut at an easy 30° angle. Like I told her, and am now telling you, the boy didn't even try to cut a straight line. Micheal J Fox could cut a straighter line than this, I assure you. When I told her it was clear he didn't try, she says he did, and that it's very hard to cut a straight line on pvc.
Very poor management. I asked them if they could cut a piece of 10 ft pvc so I could fit it in my car and I was informed that they could cut it up into certain lengths for a price, but could cut it in half for free just so I could fit it in my car. When the cut job was done it was pathetic. EFFECTIVELY wasting at least an inch of pipe. Sure it is a small amount to cause a fuss for, but I paid for 10 ft of pipe, not 9 and 11"
I should hit on the fact that when I went back into the store to make my complaint, she was eating at the checkout stand, which I know is extremely unprofessional.
Higher prices than others. Called today to check on a part. Yep we got it they said. Sent wife by to pick it up ....turned out to be the wrong one. Makes you wonder!!!!
